Re: Rose's Heavenly Cakes
Gerry, if ever you need books to bring back to MY give me a holler and I can try to find them at Kinokuniya here as I will be in SG every week any way ... plenty of space in my luggage as only pj's and a change in it
Last week I saw many Planet Cake and Rose's HC books here as well as Alan Dunn's 2 news ones ...

Re: Rose's Heavenly Cakes
My favourite/usual hotel is on Scotts road which is just a stone throw from Orchard Road. Strategic coz I can cover Borders and Kino in one night
Exchange rate is now S$1 : RM2.5 so when you convert into RM it may or may not be slightly more expensive than MPH or Popular's prices but at least no waiting time and no excess baggage and no delivery charges from overseas ..
However having said we all know Book Depository from the UK offers very good price minus delivery charges if you are willing to wait 1-2 weeks for your books ...

Re: Rose's Heavenly Cakes
Najat,
How I envy you for having the privilege to access all those books in SG! Its hard to get the books you mentioned although we could order them online.
Could you share the recipe of the super glossy shiny glaze(on the cover of Rose's book) with us, please? I am sure many of us are curious how its made.
Thanks and have a great weekend.

Re: Rose's Heavenly Cakes
Hi Najat
Tks for reviewing this book which seems to got me hooked on as well
i have borrowed TCB from the library & really enjoyed reading it. no chance to try 'em out though.
Unfortunately Book Depositry UK has increased its price to USD45.05
but i found a new site which is even cheaper @ SGD59.33!
since u're popping over to Singapore every week, do check it out since your hotel is not too far away from Plaza Singapura. gonna make my pymt on mon & hope to collect by next wk too

Re: Rose's Heavenly Cakes
You're welcome. Glad you made it in time!
Don't you just hate it when you've paid for something only to realise shortly that it is selling much cheaper elsewhere?

Re: Rose's Heavenly Cakes
i got my RHC book in kinokuniya singapore for about SGD75 with a 10% discount (kinokuniya member card). pricier than book depository but i just couldn't resist when i saw it. in fact i was stuck in kinokuniya for hours as i looked through about 10 books before whittling it down to a final 2 books.
just tried the German Choc Cake recipe recently (posted it on another thread) and its delicious!!
no regrets getting the book at all. lots of valuable tips, detailed instructions and lovely photos of the cakes. definitely going to bake more cakes from the book!

If anyone wants to get this book, Kinokuniya KLCC has 4 copies priced at RM143.80 at the new arrivals section.
