Wow, after reading your reviews, I couldn't wait to collect my copy from kino at KLCC this morning. But I have to say I've yet to feel the enthusiasm you members have. I am not happy with the paper quality-the book cost RM140.75 (wonder if I got the right book). The method Rose apply is what I usually associate with pre-mix (I have phobia with pre-mix) and prefer creaming butter and sugar method. Can the guru-guru please enlighten on these 2 methods? TIA

I have the Cake Bible and haven't had a chance to read through and try the recipes. Gohjeany, have you tried the yellow cake recipe? Any good? Maybe we can try out the recipes at one of the TKs.

Hmmm, Cake Bible or Heavenly Cakes? A good question. Needless to say both are treasures, C.B. has the added advantage of all the nitty gritty details ie: how long can keep, can freeze and zillions of little hints with each recipe. H.C. is probably a bit more up to date but...
Oh Heck, Coleslaw, get them both for your collection!!!! Or if you want to buy me coffee, you can browse mine!!!!

Mama, I have both books but haven't try any except Chocolate Stud during the TK. Commented earlier about the method used. Still skeptical, need to bake more of Rose's recipe to get use to it, I supposed.
My personal opinion (I have read only the butter cakes part on both books), I feel Rose is too lengthy on the description, makes reading boring. But I found her frosting cream interesting and would love to try out, .........soon.
On book covers, I prefer HC than CB (I am judging book by its covers
). If not for the reviews here, I wouldn't pick up CB (paper quality issue here) for that price! Anyway, if you are a cookery books lover, both books deserve a place in your house. Cheers
