Has anyone tried baking a non dairy cake and yield a good result? I have a friend who recovered from cancer and she is advised to stay away from dairy products.

As she generally missed out on all cakes for our gathering, I am thinking of baking a non dairy cake so that she can also be part of our celebration.

The gathering is tomorrow. It was a last minute decision as recently I lost a friend very suddenly and am now in reflection that we shouldn't take things for granted in life.

Hi,

I used it on my 3 -tier mock up wedding cake and it turns out good One thing thou, I am wondering why it will end up having 'bubbles' after I've kneaded it for a long time. when I try to rolled it out and ready to cover the cake, I noticed that there'll be 'bubbles'.

Did anyone tried this MMF before? Please share ...

Hi Everyone,

I'm selling fruit cakes for this coming christmas holidays. the cakes are packaged as gifts and ready to be given away. they are also great as corporate gifts, however, as they do contain alcohol, you might want to ensure that it's ok as giveaways for your clients.

I'm also selling Scandinavian gingerbread, great as alternatives to the fruit cakes if alcohol is a no no for your clients.

Do visit my website for more details and let me know if you're interested:http://www.timelesstreats.wordpress.com

I was driving near my mom's place in section 12, PJ last night when I spotted Baker Station. It's along Jalan Bukit. Same row as Khadijah's restaurant. Opposite Ehsan Ria Condo.

They just opened 3days ago. According to the owner, Umai Thevi, they are open from 9am-9pm, Mon - Sat.

It's a small shop selling baking supplies. They also sell pastries and desserts, more like a baking supplier cum bakery.

Bakers/decorators around this area should be happy with this little outlet.

Sharing with you pictures of some of the cookies that I did last night and packed this morning.

TQ for viewing.

Before packaging

Packaging done - "Happy Birthday" tags were homemade (my DH helped to cut them) and I thought the corrugated papers did a good job to support the cookies too..

p/s my personal favourites were the purple dinosaur and the pink/white teddy

I bought a nice looking cook book on MPH yesterday - Cupcakes and cheesecakes, think it is printed in Singapore.

When I looked closer, the cupcake recipes are really weird, have tried twice so far and the results the same - curdled appearance, "heavy" and very little rising, also takes about 25/30 mins to appear baked.

Would really like your expert opinions before i write to complain....

3 eggs, 1 cup softened butter, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup buttermilk, 1 1/2 cup SR flour. Etc,

I created these for a customer who told me she's hindu vegetarian. I got it all mixed up about eating eggs and made this just for her. Only to find out later, she told me, "We can eat eggs"

Oh well, the cookies still taste good. In fact, I baked an extra box and left it in the shop. Those who came by to shop tasted it and said its as good as Famous Amos Chocolate Chip cookies.

Happiness... :grin more:

Ingredients

250g butter(salted)

150g soft brown sugar
