I urgently need the recipe on Rose's Heavenly Cake which she uses on the cover. Its a chocolate glaze with gelatine. My copy of HC will only arrive another 2 weeks later. Is there anyone kind enough to share? I actually need it in white chocolate glaze, not sure if the book has it. But if not the front cover glaze is great.

Thanks guys!

I am just curious. Its available in Singapore. Manufactured in Malaysia.

Its a very good premix biscuit flour. Which I sell in my store in Singapore and use it to make all kinds of cookies. I run demo outside my store to show how its made.

The product is Halal certified. I heard that the recipe was created by Bakels Switzerland and send to Malaysia to be re-created so its halal for the muslims to use.

Here's the link for the ingredients :

I went to Jay's place yesterday and bought some stuff. Really wanted to get more of the embosser strip but since this is a hobby and not yet a career, I don't know what I would have done with them! hehe Also, I'm moving soon so I had to restrain myself!

I was excited with my new toys and I played with some pieces of the mooncake mould set that I got. I used the gourmet writer pens to fill in the colours. Need a steadier hand to do a better job next time!

That's all for now!

Hi All,

Went to Silver Chef Academy (SCA) for their demo few weeks back and I personally found it quite interesting & unique albeit not what we have been used to. This is coz their designs are more Asian...Taiwanese to be exact using whipped cream and also a "not so sweet" smooth buttercream. I think its something like Tan See Fong's kind of style (hv not seen TSF's work other than in his books).

SCA will be conducting a class on Sat. 26th Sept. Think its suitable for ...

I have tried a few fondant recipes, including the ones with egg whites, but finally settle with this because of its pliability. Of course, it is not as stretchy as store-bought fondant but it really saves a lot if you make your own fondant.

Fondant

1 tbsp gelatin

60g water

170g liquid glucose

24g shortening

1kg icing sugar, sifted

Combine gelatin and water in a microwavable container. Soak for 2-3 minutes until gelatin starts to melt.

here's the result:

i need to work on the frosting more though cos it was a bit too runny and dripped off the cake. also i baked the cakes without using cake strip so it was a bit domed in the center.

As she generally missed out on all cakes for our gathering, I am thinking of baking a non dairy cake so that she can also be part of our celebration.

The gathering is tomorrow. It was a last minute decision as recently I lost a friend very suddenly and am now in reflection that we shouldn't take things for granted in life.
