Being in the health care industry, I am concern abt the number of people sleep deprived due to baking and decorating cakes..Just some points to share with you, which I received from a friend thru email: Short sleep duration (<5 or 5-6 hours) increased risk for high BP by 350% to 500% compared to those who slept longer than 6 hours per night. Hi! I think we do come across some weird requests in our line. There was this particular one made recently which I thought I'd share with all of you and perhaps you could share yours too so that we can all together! I met with a customer recently for a 21st birthday cake (7 kilos - 2 tier). The specific request was that the cake should not be too beautiful as it may outshine the birthday girl's attire which was very grand! I didn't know how to respond to that. Should I be flattered ...

Hi all, I haven't been able to post much, because I've been mostly baking bread - sourdough, cranberry, baguettes, etc. I did do a few cakes, esp one fondant-covered cake, my first, which I have been wanting to post up here! I somehow couldn't find my XD card adapter and dug around the house for more than a week. The photos of my cake stayed on the camera. Is it just me? My morale takes a nose dive when I see some of the cakes/websites here. Just looked at 'Delectable", the new outlet at Gardens and feel like crawling in my little cave with the paltry stuff i manage to do! I am certainly not aiming for the sky but compared to some of the creations, and on a scale of 1 - 10, I have to mark myself as a -100 ^^^^.
Oh well, down to the kitchen to see what comes out today!! If my depression lifts first!!!!!!!!
