I recently got hold of Rose's Heavenly Cake book and tried baking the German Chocolate Cake (first recipe I tried from the book) here's the result: i need to work on the frosting more though cos it was a bit too runny and dripped off the cake. also i baked the cakes without using cake strip so it was a bit domed in the center. but the taste was really very good! the chocolate cake itself was deeply chocolatey, ... This came about when i look at my stacks of cake recipe books. It's like so many recipes, and so little time. I'm sure many of you can identify with this. We can't resist buying new books but hardly have the time nor the energy to try out the recipes. Sometimes when i try out a certain recipe, I end up with cake that I can't finish. It can be expensive as well esp when we need imported ingredients like cheese and choc. ...
