ccyhan wrote:Yea it does taste better, its much softer and pliable in texture. if u plan to make fondant flowers with this, u need to add in some gum trax (Wilton). It helps in the hardening process. MMF can be kept in air tight container up to 2 or 3 weeks and still remain soft! It wont go bad because sugar is a natural preservative. I use it to cover my cakes. As for the flower decorations i use the regular fondant because i cant get gum trax here.

Hi, i am fond of using MMF for simple designs like flowers. I would love to try to add gum tex to MMF to make it more pliable. How much do you add to, say per 500g MMF? Appreciate your advice! I love you

cheers, bonnie

Bonnie, if you purchase Wilton's gum tex, there are written instructions on the label. You can add 1 or 2 tablespoons to 500g MMF.

Hie Linda,

Try cold storage / jusco. These supermarkets will usually have them. Most of the time, I will purchase my supply from Cold Storage - 200g for RM4.99. I only buy this brand, coz this brand is certified halal - my Muslim customers can take it too.

Hope the information helps! Smile

I have got mine in Jusco Mid Valley. Cold Storage carries this too.

Thanks Soo Chin, unfortunately they only have flavored marshmallow by Hersheys in Jusco Bukit Raja.

But I will try Cold Storage SACC Mall.

Hie Linda,

One thing for sure. Cold Storage Subang Parade has the normal white marshmallows. I got my supply from there 3 days ago. Smile

Thanks much ccyhan!

I was making some bees to put on top cupcakes. I stored them in a tupperware in the fridge and this morning, I took them out and they started to sweat. It is because I stored them in the fridge? or I should have left them outside instead? confused .

Would appreciate guideline on how to store gumpaste that it won't sweat.. Please bonnie
