Tiramisu Cake ...
Hie All Sifus,
My mum requested for me to make her a Tiramisu Cake, but she doesn't like the ones using the Sponge finger and mascarpone cheese.
Does anyone has any good Tiramisu recipe that has been tested and proven to share?
Thanks in advanced!

Re: Tiramisu Cake ...
Soo Chin,
Do you mean the kind of tiramisu cakes that they sell at Secret Recipe and Alexis? Those uses sponge cakes and you can use the mascarpone cheese mixture to put them together. I guess just wet the sponge cake layers with coffee using a pastry brush and layering the cream cheese mixture between and around it.
The authentic Tiramisu is the one with sponge fingers and mascarpone cheese. My husband and in-laws would be horrified
if I make the tiramisu the non-italian way!

Soo Chin,
You can substitute mascarpone cheese with cream cheese since you say your mum does not like mascarpone.

Re: Tiramisu Cake ...
Hi All,
Thanks for the advise! Let me try out the recipe using sponge cake + some Baileys this weekend.
Anne - my mum is okie with the mascarpone cheese, but she doesn't like the sponge fingers. Cream cheese is just a little too heavy for tiramisu, don't u think so?

Re: Tiramisu Cake ...
Soo Chin,
I personally prefer mascarpone but some clients prefer cream cheese. It's all in one's taste buds!
