Cupcake Chic - New outlet @ Pavilion
Hi all,
During my trip to KL last weekend, while I was at Pavilion a girl gave me a tentcard and a small cupcake. The cupcake tasted very nice and soft
. The shop is opening today, 15 July 2009. This is the website www.cupcakechic.com.my. May be might not new for those in KL but for me, is new.

I don't know if anyone has heard of Sprinkle Cupcake, the famous cupcake place in Beverly Hills ?? I have never been there but it got rave reviews when it first opened and it was mentioned in many websites.
When Cupcake Chic launched their cupcakes, many people commented that their designs and flavours are copied from Sprinkles especially the famous modern one dot/cicle in the middle of the cake. Their menu also is in a similar layout as Sprinkles .
(just Google and see for yourself).
Coincidence???? I am curious as I have not tasted from either place..
pssttt ... the cupcakes sold at ICCA also look similar to CC's

A few days ago, I watched Martha Stewart's show and her guest was a lady from Sprinkles Cupcake. This lady said that they sell, on average, 1,000 cupcakes a day and they have 20 different flavours.
*Najat, you're right, the cupcakes do look similar.

Re: Cupcake Chic - New outlet @ Pavilion
I have not tried any cupcakes sold at these shops either (I mean the ones in M'sia) ..... oh, except for Wondermilk Cuppacakes' which we ordered as doorgifts for my niece's engagement.
The usual comment is .... why so sweet (the icing)? Why indeed? Is it to keep the shape e.g. so that the swirls don't fall flat?
I also wonder why most cupcakes sold at the shops in US are simple in design .... they must be big on taste, I'm sure.

I've tried both Cupcake Chic and Wondermilk's cuppies. Yeah, the CC icing is a bit sweet but the cakes themselves are pretty good. I've tried quite a few of their varieties, on different visits.
As for Wondermilk...let's just say I won't be buying any cuppies from them anytime soon

RM9 a piece, or something like that, right?
Doesn't that make you feel like your own cupcakes are so underpriced?
