MCDC Quiz - Chocolate & 'Ladies'

Thanks for being so sporting with this discussion topic. I guess it is not so much on the “small prize” for the big question; it is the process and fun participating in a discussion and hopefully we can all learn a little something from each other.



I suggested to Jo yesterday that we should have more quizzes of this nature. I can start cleaning my garage and see if I can find more gifts to sponsor.



Shimi: Valrhona and Callebaut and both famous brand of chocolate. One from France and the other from Belgium. Of course they both claimed they are better. Callebaut has a few production plants in the world, the closest one to us is Singapore and they have also recently taken over KL Kepong. I have tried those chocolate produced from Callebaut Belgium before. If compare to the same % of cocoa butter and cocoa solid for those produce in Singapore or Malaysia, I doubt if they can match the quality 100%. Again, different people have different preference over chocolate. I am happy that you pay attention comparing brands but to many ppl, chocolate is just chocolate and there is no different.



Min, you like Valrhona too ya. Try it with sweet durian paste, the bitterness from choc and sweetness from durian blend really well…. yummy

Jay, got my PM? Yes, we should do this on a regular basis to keep this forum as interesting as it can be, though it is already VERY interesting and happening. I am so proud of this forum and all you ladies and gentlemen here.

Jay, start thinking of the next topic please. I am still thinking if I should rename this thread as MCDC Quiz. Does that sound FORMAL????

Jo, got your message, very good idea you have. Thanks again for this wonderful forum... MCDC Quiz sounds really wonderful.

We should take turns hosting the quiz. First question was raised by Gerry. Why not we let either Najat or Min to host the second question -- the were so closed for winning the prize for the first question. My job here is to think of what to reward the winner... oooops, have to start cleaning my garage already....

Yupe, will let Najat or Min host it this time. They both have good sense of humor and creative ideas, so I am sure it will be another round of good laughs

Aiyaiyaiiii ... I went away for a day and came back and read that I have been tagged with the next quiz question...

I can dig up for the quiz questions but is Jay still supplying the prizes too?

I must tell you that I went to SG today to do a medical checkup at Paragon (super spanking impressive clinics they have there) and after lunch I went across to Kinokuniya - BOY!!! so many new cake decorating books!!!! looked through a few new ones (maisie parrish, alan dunn, debbie brown's older ones which I don't have yet, sylvia wienstock and many more)
Did I buy any? nawwww .. I'll let Jay sponsor some of them coz I'm sure he will bring in new books for MCDC members if we twist his arms hard enough ...

Najat, you are a fast learner... I'll second your proposal that Jay sponsor some books.

HI all: The prize will be depending on the complexity of the questions. For books, I will try to contact some publishers for some free books.....

Any good book will first be on auction first.... we need more fund to have more fun here... right....
