Save our mother earth, use DIY Garbage Enzyme (earth-saving enzyme)
Hi Ladies (and may be there are some gentlemen reading this note too),
I believe we create a lot of kitchen waste everyday, such as vegetable and/or fruit dregs
. The vegetable and fruit dregs actually can turn into earth-saving enzyme or Garbage Enzyme. What is Garbage Enzyme? May be some of you already started to make your own Garbage Enzyme at home, and you know the benefits of this enzyme. For those don't know what is Garbage Enzyme, let me tell you the endless benefits of this enzyme here.
Garbage enzyme is a multipurpose liquid that can be used as a cleansing agent, purifier, fertiliser, blockage solution, etc. It is actually a smart way of using your kitchen wastes instead of throwing them out. When you make garbage enzymes using kitchen wastes like vegetables and fruits, it goes through a process of fermentation. This fermentation process will release ozone gas that will help to reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Thus, making homemade enzymes is also an excellent way to do our part in safeguarding the environment. Ezyme is a smart way to avoid using harsh chemicals. By the end those Enzyme will reach to the river & the sea and it will safe our environment
.
Garbage Enzyme can be used for:
Recommended to use a 5 litre mineral water bottle
RATIO:
Brown Sugar / Molasses : 300 gram
Water : 3 litre
Garbage (chop to smaller pieces) : about 900 gram (or fill the 80% of the bottle)
Method:
1. Mix brown sugar with water, add in the garbage.
2. Leave some space for fermentation (don't over fill the bottle, must leave some space)
3. Enzyme will form and ready to use in 3 months.
4.Make sure the bottle is air tight.
5. During the first month, open the container’s cap once a day to release the gas that has built up
6. Push the floating garbage downward once a while.
7. After the first month, the ingredients in the container should be stable and you won’t need to release the gas anymore. At this stage, you just need to leave it alone to ferment for another 2 months before using it. It’s that easy!
8. The enzyme is ready to use in 3 months. The residue can be reuse for the next production by adding fresh garbage. It can be use as fertilizer by drying the residue, blending and buried in the ground.
Usage Dilution ratio (in water):
Enzyme for fertilizer, 1:100 / 500 / 1000
Enzyme for insecticide, 1:1000
Enzyme for pesticide, 1:100
For anti odour / air re-freshener: dilute 200x
As plant hormone to get more flower and fruit dilute 500x.
Enzyme adds with water to dilute, it become more power.
For Shampoo (can use to wash hairs, will make hairs smoother), Dish wash, Detergent, use enzyme: add half tea spoon in shampoo (1 tea spoon for 500cc; 1 table spoon for 1 lit) to enhance the nutrients and reduce chemical side effect.
Hope you will try this recipe to make your own Garbage Enzyme. Let's save the environment together
Regards,
fongpeng

These are the Garbage Enzyme, they are still in the process of making.

Re: Save our mother earth, use DIY Garbage Enzyme (earth-saving enzyme)
Dear Fong Peng
The NGO that I work with has been promoting this garbage enzyme for the last couple of years, we have introduced it to schools and the project has been successful. One of our service projects is to encourage members to make the enzyme and pour into into the sea in a hope that we can negate the pollution.
Another easy recipe that I would like to share is to make environment friendly dish wash.
1 ts[ of brown sugar to 500 ml of water (you can use the mineral water bottles )added to water that is used to wash rice (the first rinse), allow it to ferment for 10 days and it can be used after that. Greasy dishes become sparkling clean, great glass cleaner, toilet and floor cleaner etc.
Try it.

looks like ambika's tip is the easiest for lazy me!!!
to remember to release the gas daily is too much effort for absent minded me..i might just end up cleaning up the mess from the explosion!!!

Hahaha... you are right coleslaw, you better follow the easy way to make the enzyme
Oh ya, for those who want to try DIY the Garbage Enzyme, if you like the smell of citrus or pandan leaf, you can always add more orange or lemon peels and pandan leafs to the brown sugar water.

This is such a great tip. I am going to try the dishwashing liquid first. Thanks for sharing.
Re: Save our mother earth, use DIY Garbage Enzyme (earth-saving enzyme)
thank you for sharing fong peng. btw, when we release the gas, how does it smell like? where do you store the bottle when all this is happening, in our kitchen can???
also, how much would it cost if we buy from the organic shops?

Re: Save our mother earth, use DIY Garbage Enzyme (earth-saving enzyme)
Hi anne,
How would it smell like? This will depend what you put into the brown sugar water. 'Garbage' Enzyme, 'Garbage', hahaha.... If you want it smells better, as i said before, you can add in orange or lemon peels, or pandan leaves. Please store the bottle in the area no direct sunlight, and with enough airflow. Ya, you can put in the kitchen, i put in the kitchen too. Orangic shops are not selling Garbage Enzyme now, they encourage us to DIY at home. Save out earth, starts from our kitchen. You can refer to the following for more information on how to make Garbage Enzyme.

Point to be noted and taken!
Hope this will help

Point to be noted and taken!
- Preferably use a container that can be expanded
- Only use fruit and vegetable waste. Avoid oily cooked food, fish and meat waste.
- If the colour of garbage enzyme is black, add in the same amount of sugar and start the fermentation process again.
- Fully utilize the garbage enzyme residue by reusing it for the next production by adding fresh garbage, use as fertilizer by drying the residue, blend it and bury it, grind the residue, pour into toilet bowl, or add some brown sugar and flush to help purify the sewage.
- The longer the enzyme ferments; the better it is and the best part is, it never expires!
- Never store the garbage enzyme in a fridge.
Hope this will help
Re: Save our mother earth, use DIY Garbage Enzyme (earth-saving enzyme)

Re: Save our mother earth, use DIY Garbage Enzyme (earth-saving enzyme)
fong peng and Ambika, thanks for sharing the great info. I have the same question, how does the enzyme smell during the fermentaiton process? Wish to be environmentally friendly but too afraid of the smell of the 'garbage'.

A friend of mine is also a proponent of this organic solution.
BUT she chosed to do only orange peel, lime peel and all other citrus fruits to give that fresh smell to her solutions.
Apparently you can get for free the orange or lemon or lime peel at the wet market after they have squeezed out the juices to make drinks.
It worked the same as above minus the 'garbage' smell..
