MCDC Get-Together #2

We have had our first ever get-together today at the Royal Lake Club, hosted by Ambika. Thanks Ambika for organising it. We definitely had fun sharing cake and non-cake related topics

The MCDC will be having its 2nd Get-Together again in January. We are honoured to have Cake Connection sponsoring the space for the get-together this time. Details as follows:


Date : 10th January 2009, Sat (I made a mistake earlier on the date. 10th Jan is the correct date as agreed by all members in the 1st get-together. Sorry about this)
Time : 10 am - 1.30pm (approx.)
Venue: Cake Connection, D-11-1, Block D, Jaya One, 72A, Jalan University, Section 13, 46200 Petaling Jaya. (Above Klung Station Restaurant)

Token (Fee): RM 30 per person
Max. no. of pax: 19.
Reservation of seats based on first come first basis. Priority will be given to members. Non-members are welcome to leave your name at the waiting list. We will overbook certain numbers of participants to cater for last minute drop outs.

Activities:
1. Demonstration on decorating a Chinese New Year theme cake with homemade marzipan, fondant (RTU), etc, by Jo. Decorations include red packets, cherry blossoms, fire crackers, etc. Way of making homemade marzipan will be demonstrated too.
2. A short talk on food photography by Teepee from TPcal Cakes.
3. Potluck lunch after the demonstration.

Things to note and bring:
1. Yourself with anticipation to share and learn from each other.
2. Notepad and pen to take down notes during demonstration.
3. Bring along a dish for the potluck lunch. I have started a topic at the Chit Chat Club to discuss on the dishes which you will be bringing here so that there will not be any clashing
4. As MCDC Club is a non-profit club, it survives on contributions from its members. The proceeds from the collection of fee will be used for the upkeeping of the MCDC Forum (for hosting web space and future upgrading if needed) and its future activities (like renting room for activities, ingredients costs for demonstration, etc....).
5. Containers and food storage bags to pack unfinished food (if you don't mind) as we foresee there will be plenty of food left behind. No food wastage allowed!!!!

Since this will be on weekend to cater for working crowd, we hope to see more new faces in our upcoming gathering.
