I am re-posting this in case some of you have missed it, especially since there was no response since Jo posted this.

Hi Members,

As
many members will be away in December, we only have 16 people confirmed
for the coming meeting on 12 Dec. As usual, the moderators will expect
10-15% last minute drop outs. Many members have asked the Moderators if
we could rescheduled the meeting as they did not want to miss the
interesting programme that we have lined up. In view thereof, we feel
that it's best to reschedule the meeting to Jan. A new date will be
announced as soon as possible.

For
the meeting in Jan, we will still stick to the cookie theme but as
Christmas would have been over by then, we decided to open the cookies
design to various occasions such as:

- New Year (as in 2010)
- Valentines
- CN
- Mothers Day
- Fathers Day
- Deepavali
- Hari Raya
- Teachers Day
- Christmas

This
is in line with a new year starting, plus the spirit of Muhibbah. But
more importantly, from a design point of view, we can easily get xmas
cookie designs from the internet etc but not designs for the other
occasions. By including all the other festivals, members can showcase
their creativity and everyone can learn more. Plus by doing this early
in the year, members will be armed with lots of new ideas when those
festivals come along.

This
is what we are going to do. We are doing away with the cookie exchange
as many members will be busy in Jan with school re-opening etc. Instead
we will have a little competition. Members who are joining the Jan Meet
will make up to 3 cookies from any of the categories above. Example one
Valentines cookie, one CNY cookie and one Mother's Day Cookie. You can
also submit 1 Fathers Day and 2 Raya cookies and so on. Be as creative
as you like not only with the cookie design, but also with the
packaging. All cookie entries will be displayed and put to the vote.

Also in view of the Cookie making spirit, as scheduled, our lovely member Lyzaghazali will be showing us how to decorate beautiful cookies and the ways of packaging them.

Jo and the Moderators will post new MCDC Meet schedule.
We hope you will be able to join the next Meet when it is announced.
The Meet is done quarterly and the last was held in July.
